DIZZINESS & BALANCE PHYSIO
We can help to stop the spinning & clear your head.
Dizziness can present in many ways including a feeling of drunkenness, vertigo, motion sickness and problems reading or turning over in bed.
These problems can be debilitating often preventing people from managing everyday tasks. Our Vestibular trained balance Physios assess your inner ear balance organ along with your sense of space (proprioception) to identify the cause your dizziness.
Vestibular rehabilitation aims to treat the cause of the dizziness by stimulating the balance centre in the brain and encourage your brain, eyes and limbs to work together.
They are easy to use, quick to do and can significantly reduce if not eliminate your symptoms..
Massage Therapy
We can help restore soft tissue flexibility.
Working in conjunction with our Physiotherapists, our massage therapist use a variety of techniques including trigger point, myofascial and soft tissue release. Massage can provide pain relief, promote healing and speed up recovery from injury as well as encourage release of stress in the body.
Ante and postnatal massage is also available.
acupuncture
We can help reduce stress, pain & muscle tension.
Acupuncture is one of the many skills used within physiotherapy to complement the management of pain and inflammation. The insertion of needles into tight muscles or trigger points can stimulate blood flow and the body’s ability to self-repair. This combined with other treatments such as joint mobilising and muscle strengthening can improve recovery time.
At Physio Practice Cornwall we use Acupuncture and Electroacupuncture to enhance the repair mechanism using a sound knowledge of evidence-based research. Evidence has shown that Acupuncture is particularly effective in the treatment of muscle pain and migraines. The process has be shown to stimulate natural pain relieving chemicals in the body including serotonin, endorphins and melatonin which promotes relaxation to aid sleep.
